Age Thing -- Bio Meme
Apr. 7th, 2013 11:15 pmHere's how this works. You comment, I give you an age (please tell me how old you are, or risk having to time-travel to find out the answers) and you respond to the questions with what applied to you back then, and what's true now.
serene gave me 21. I turned 21 in May of 1971
I was in college that year, my junior year.
I lived in: Larsen dorm at St. Olaf College -- my third year rooming with Kristen Hansen. That year we had Basil of Baker Street on our door chalkboard, and we'd firmly established our nicknames as Wimsey and Holmes.
Now: I live in a 1960s era Cape Cod bungalow in a near suburb of Pittsburgh. It's a small three-bedroom, 1 1/2 bath house with a nicely-sized kitchen and a big dining room I don't use. It has hardwood floors, plaster walls, a decorative iron banister, a basement for storage, and a one-car garage.
I drove: I shared the Veverka-mobile (a Buick Century station wagon) with my sister Holly.
Now: A red Toyota Celica coupe (2002).
I was in a relationship with: Nobody, really. Not at that point. I was falling for my first girlfriend, Laura.
Now: Single. For three years now!
I feared: Nothing in particular. Heights, being hurt, the usual.
Now: I think I'm more afraid now of losing people I love. Otherwise, nothing has changed.
I worked at: I worked in the computer lab at college.
Now: I work as a technical writer, writing documentation (help, tutorials, training) for mechanical engineering software.
I wanted to be: An English professor. Or a history professor. One of the two. I also wanted to be a mother.
Now: I want to be loved and to be loving.
